introduction is what we feel would be a perfect fit to this website
that is being built around a simple person who really needs very
little introduction except for novice Telugu film viewer. Not only
is his name simple but so are his movies. He definitely is one
of those few directors who make their movies on simple themes and
yet have a great depth of creativity embedded into them.
Coming from a small
town in E.Godavari Dist of Andhra Pradesh, Vamsy looks very simple
even to this day. A person of very low profile, his words are
simple, his views are simple and so are his tastes. His most liked
places are Araku, Godavari tiralu, Green fields and so on. But yet,
what makes him unique from others is his creativity.
For anyone, a few
minutes with Vamsy presents an awesome experience with the
atmosphere filled with an unique feeling of filmy world. His
in-depth knowledge of world cinema definitely leaves us mesmerizing
but what's more awesome is in these days of so many copied movies,
you rarely find such from this genius who definitely at least in our
world of movies has one of the greatest ideas of world cinema. The
art of film making is what he says he looks for and is always after
watching all these great movies from around the world.
What happens when
such a personality with such extraordinary talent sits to make a
movie. Naturally, all things being fine, a master piece but which
hasn't been the case for this genius. A sad truth but the reality is
this master has been on a losing trend lately whatever may be the
reasons. There have been only a few master pieces and the rest just
carried marks of his great creativity. Now, after a long gap, Vamsy
is all set to start his second innings and promises to achieve what
only he can.
It wouldn't be
surprising to find a person who isn't very much familiar with
Vamsy's name but you rarely find a Telugu person (who ofcourse has
some interest in movies) who doesn't remember the movies Anveshana
or Sitaara. It can very easily be said that there hasn't been a
movie in Telugu that can stand beside Anveshana in its class of
movies.
Also, only a few can
boast of the wide variety of movies that Vamsy dealt with. Be it a
thriller, a comedy, a romantic or a classic this master showed his
class in all areas. Yet, there seem to be very few movies from this genius.
Being a person who finds all the beauty he needs in Godavari not
Niagara, Sarees not Skirts, Araku not Switzerland, he really hasn't
done justice to the enormous talent he possess.
Very few have an idea
of the creativity that makes Vamsy so special. Be it a script or a
lyric, a song or a Back ground music, a costume or a location, he
has his own unique mark that very few have. His in-depth knowledge
of each and every aspect of movie making in awesome. How many of us
might have observed closely that in a poorly performing movie like
" Linga Babu Love Story", the costumes of RP have a
typical creativity embedded into them. In all the major scenes, RP's
shirt has caricatures of the events following them. Similarly, in
Sitaara, the song "Kuku Kuku Kokila .. " was planned in a
different way. Vamsy wanted hundreds of Parrots for that song but
the producer couldn't provide them. At the last minute, Vamsy
picturised the song using the movements from the hands of dancers and yet it turned out so beautiful. These are just a very few
examples of this creative genius.
There has been a
transform from Sitaara to W/O V.VaraPrasad and the reasons may be
many. He surely holds the moral responsibility but so does many
other things. But yet, inspite of being on a failure track
professionally, he still holds those marks of brilliance which very
very few have. In these days when the film industry follows a trend,
it's these Vamsy's that can make a difference. An unbroken
long... present trend itself defines the depth of creativity in our
film world and once again reminds of what we are missing.
After a long gap,
this simple, humble creative genius is all set to re-start and we at
Vamsy.net are proud to be a part of this second phase of his career
which we believe will not only be the best part of his film making
but will also serve all the lovely fans of Vamsy what they have been
waiting for.
